Yesterday was the annual Balloon Fest in Glens Falls NY. Nikki and I, along with our friends Tommy and Tory, got up at the crack of before dawn (4:00 am) to make it up to the airport in time to see the balloons go up at sunrise. The whole thing was wrapped up by 8:00 am just in time for a diner breakfast. Check out the gallery or enjoy a few of my favorites posted below:
I found out today that I had five of my photo’s chosen to be published in a Mini Cooper Magazine, MC2 (squared), from the recent Mini’s on Top event where I was one of 3 “official” photographers. I know it’s not Road & Track but I’m pretty excited about it, it is published nationally and viewed by scounds of rabid Mini drivers, that’s right - scounds (I’d like to see Road & Track pull those kind of numbers).
I wish I could scan the pages and post them here, but that would violate MC2’s copyright (even though they are my pictures….) I can show you what they used: this little number was a full page spread - neato. UPDATE: The thumbnails at the bottom show the other pictures that were chosen for publication (congrats to me for getting a gallery to work on my blog! woo-hoo!)
Nikki and I had the pleasure of attending the wedding of two great friends of ours this past weekend. It was at a huge mansion in Vermont, really a spectacular place. I was able to snap a few pictures, but spent most of my time enjoying friends, festivities, and the beautiful surroundings. A few from this weekend.
I had a really fun shoot a few weeks ago. Vanessa is 2, and she’s the daugher of some friends of ours here in Albany. I’ll admit was challenging keeping up with her to get some shots on the playground, but we all had some fun and got some good shots in the end. The whole gallery is here.

Nikki and I attended this Mini Cooper rally at the end of June and it really was a blast. On Saturday morning we drove from Stoddard to Loon Mountain where Minis from around the Northeast (and few from much further away) gathered. Loon was the staging point for the numerous drives to the Mt. Washington Auto Road. After a boot sale (trunk sale for you americans), a concourse de elegance, and a short drivers meeting, the minis were dispatched and headed toward Mt Washington.
We, along with about 120 other Minis, chose to drive the Kancamagus Trail, which cuts through the heart of the white mountains.
We arrived at Mt. Washington in the early afternoon to find overcast conditions and forcasts of rain. But most didn’t care and we had a wonderful dinner under the big tent. After some festivities, including the giveaway of a new Mini Clubman, we began our motor up the mountain.
After an 8 mile drive in 1st gear we reached the top where we found spectacular views of nothing but dense fog! We braved the wind and fog (which was so thick it felt like rain in the strong wind) and wandered up to the summit for the obligatory “look what we did” picture. Soaking we and freezing we headed down the mountain around 8:00 and began our trek back to Albany. Thanks to the organizers and all the other drivers for a wonderful time.

Welcome to the new format! As of this afternoon I’ve migrated the old site to a new blog format. My life has officially become easier. Couple of things to look forward to….
Minis on Top gallery should be posted shortly. Maybe even later today.
From here on out, new shoots will be added to the front page of the blog as well as in whatever category they fit into. I sure hope this works the way I want it to.
I’ve added some more content, and most of the tabs along the top should be groovy in terms of having something in them. The only thing I have yet to post is the recent Minis on Top event, but that is coming shortly, thing have been busy around here (and I have been lazy, it’s a double edged sword),
So enjoy the new content, that for most of you is probably old.
Click the Projects tab on top to check out some recent photo projects and shoots I’ve done.
So here’s the deal. Websites, at least the one I designed, is a bit cumbersome to update, to the point that I am procrastinating updating the site because I’m busy enough with other things. So I decided to go the way of the efficient (in my case this is read: lazy) blogospherist. By doing this I can (hopefully) accomplish a few things. First is already covered, I can update things more easily.
The second and more important reason that a lot of the pictures I take have a bit of a story behind them, and on the old site I didn’t find I could tell much of a story without things getting ugly.
So things are going to be changing around here. I’m going to be adding some of the content of the old site as updates every couple of days, but at the same time I’m going to maintain a actual wedding website since a lot of that content and information isn’t really suited to blogs. The wedding stuff should make it to this side of the site, I’m hoping to have it a little in each.
This could be a complete failure……stay tuned to find out.
